Postdoc (f/m/d) High-Throughput Discovery and Characterization of Photovoltaic Materials

Reference No.: SE 2024/12

Thin-film photovoltaic technologies have the potential for high performance, low cost, customizability, building integration, and minimized material usage. Current challenges in research are the identification of earth-abundant, non-toxic and stable materials and device structures which can support high conversion efficiencies.

Our department focuses on the research and development of novel photovoltaic materials such as perovskites, chalcogenides and nitrides by combinatorial approaches, analysing sample libraries with compositional gradient by high-throughput characterisation techniques.
We are particlarly interested in developing and applying non-contact optical characterization techniques, such hyperspectral luminescence imaging, time-resolved photoluminescence and Thz absorption spectroscopy for high-throughput semiconductor characterization.
These methods can be used for early-stage material performance assessment, but also for process monitoring in industrial settings.

We are currently looking for a highly motivated researcher to contribute to the advancement of multimodal, optical characterisation methods, which combined with machine-learning aided data analysis will enable high-throughput research and development of novel photovoltaic materials.
