- Would you like to help drive the digital transformation in research and provide better networking and IT-supported collaboration?
- Do you prefer to provide IT services to experts from a wide range of disciplines?
Then you've come to the right place! At HZB, we are researching materials that will make the sustainable energy supply of the future possible. For our internationally renowned large-scale facility, the synchrotron radiation source BESSY II, we are developing possibilities for remote control of complex catalysis experiments in a pilot project. In this project, called ROCK-IT (remote, operando controlled, knowledge-driven, IT-based), we are working together with science-related IT departments from other Helmholtz centres throughout Germany.
You can expect to work with highly motivated colleagues and know that your work makes a vital contribution to the research done at the facility.
Your Tasks
- Provide remote access for various user groups to different applications at the centre
- Set up an ID management system that covers the authentication of access. This includes MFA and integration of various ID providers, from employees, users of the large-scale facility BESSY II, up to federated IDs.
- Authorisation for internal services must be guaranteed via internal, curated databases, typically the digital user office.
Your Profile
- Completed university degree, preferably in computer science, or equivalent skills and experience
- Practical experience in dealing with and analytical understanding of IDM systems in heterogeneous ID landscapes

How to apply
You will work together with colleagues from other Helmholtz Centres throughout Germany, further develop the existing interfaces with colleagues in-house, clarify the boundary conditions for implementation with the scientific staff and bring the system to production maturity.
The external funding makes this possible within the framework of a temporary project environment. After successful implementation, it is our express wish to take over the model environment into regular operation together with you, for an unlimited period and in the highest quality.
We look forward to receiving your application via our application management system by 02.06.2024. For reasons of data protection regulations,
we are unfortunately unable to consider applications that reach us by other means (such as email or mail) in the application process.
We very much want our workplace to be diverse, and welcome applications from people with different backgrounds. It is our mission to promote equal opportunities and to improve women’s representation in the workforce. We are therefore very interested in receiving applications from women. Where the qualifications are met, we will give preference to people with disabilities.
