Achieving climate-neutrality within the next 20 years necessitates an innovation boost for the development of highly efficient, scalable, low-cost and sustainably produced energy technologies. Polymer materials play a central role in this process.
HIPOLE deeply integrates and expands world-class expertise in polymer chemistry, materials science, high-throughput experimentation and artificial intelligence with complementary expertise in inorganic/hybrid materials, scalable devices and advanced characterization.
You have the chance to support the newly founded institute as a technician (m/f/d) from the beginning with your ideas and expertise. Your tasks include the experimental characterization of novel materials and colloids for applications in energy storage, for which a variety of state-of-the-art equipment and unique technologies are available in our institute.
Your Tasks
- Experimental investigation/purification of polymers and colloids from research using (analytical) ultracentrifugation, field-flow fractionation, light scattering, and chromatography
- Experimental support for scientists in the development of methods for the above-mentioned techniques
- Responsibility for support and maintenance of laboratory equipment and technical devices
- Instruction of staff in the use of equipment
- Contribution to method development for characterization
- Contribution to the procurement and setup of equipment for characterization
- Responsibility for general order and cleanliness in the laboratory
- Management and procurement of consumables
Your Profile
- Completed vocational training as a technical assistant (CTA/BTA/MTA) or a comparable professional qualification with analytical relevance
- Knowledge of how to use precise measuring instruments such as densimeters, viscometers, centrifuges as well as common analytical methods such as chromatography
- Good technical understanding and willingness to learn new topics
- General computer skills, including Windows and Office
- English skills, both written and spoken

Fixed term contract for 24 months. The salary is based on the Collective Agreement for the German Public Service (TVöD-Bund).
