The Department Experiment Control and Data Acquisition of the Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin offers in collaboration with the Department of Cooperative Studies at the Hochschule für Wirtschaft und Recht Berlin a Dual Course of Study in Informatics.
Curricula / tests / praxis at HZB
The course is tailored to the use of modern data processing in a scientific and technological Environment. It contains both a theoretical and practical part in similar proportions.
a) The theoretical part: includes lectures, seminars and exercises at the Hochschule für Wirtschaft und Recht Berlin as well as courses at the Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin.
b) The practical part: takes place in the Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin or in co-operating research centers. Students are involved in tasks of application and system programming.
The study is divided into six modules, each of which is completed by an examination. After three years, the final exam will consist of a bachelor thesis.
Due to the successful completion of computer science studies at the Hochschule für Wirtschaft und Recht Berlin the degree of Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) is awarded. The program has been assessed by a German accreditation agency with 210 credit points (European Credit Transfer System, ECTS).

The apprenticeship pay is based on the Collective Agreement for Apprentices for the Public Service (TVAöD).
