The proton irradiation centre Zyklotron at HZB is Germany’s first proton therapy facility and is unique in its technical capabilities. Since June 1998, we have been treating patients with eye tumours using proton beams in cooperation with Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Campus Benjamin Franklin. In addition to clinical operations, we are actively involved in accelerator physics research, including beam delivery, dosimetry, and accelerator development. We are looking for an engineer (f/m/d) to support the maintenance and further development of the beamline system of our Zyklotron research and therapy accelerator. - In close collaboration with colleagues from accelerator physics and medical physics, you will be responsible for planning and carrying out maintenance as well as providing ongoing services for the beamline of the research and therapy accelerator at HZB.
- You maintain, operate, and further develop the high-power RF systems (10–20 MHz, 30 kW) of the cyclotron as well as its power supplies.
- You provide protons for therapy during shift operations.
Your profile
- Master’s degree in electronics, RF technology, communication technology, or a related field
- Knowledge of digital and analog electrical measurement technology and electronics
- fluent German language skills (C1) and good English language skills (B2)
- Programming skills in EPICS, C++, or Python are desirable
- Passion for electronics and hands-on practical work
- Availability to work shifts for up to 15 days per quarter

The employment contract is unlimited. The salary is based on the Collective Agreement for the German Public Service (TVöD-Bund).
