Postdoc (f/m/d) on “Ferroelectric ultra-scaled devices based on topological polar textures”

Reference No.: QM 2024/7

In the Institute IFOX at HZB, we work on functional oxide thin films and nanostructures combined with semiconductors for energy-efficient information technology. We focus on material synthesis, detailed structural characterization using advanced methods, and on device properties for neuromorphic computing applications.
As a postdoctoral researcher, you will work in the framework of the ERC Advanced Grant LUCIOLE (Layering, Understanding, Controlling, Integrating Ferroelectric Polar textures on Silicon).
You will develop 2- and 3-terminal devices integrating ferroelectric polar textures and investigate their electrical behavior. The electrical manipulation of polar textures under electrical field will be explored. Devices with sub-100 nm dimensions will be targeted. In addition to that, you will develop AI-based methods to analyze large amount of data obtained from thousands of devices at wafer scale to unveil behavioral patterns.
The position, first for two years, can be extended up to five years. A permanent position may be granted at the end of the five years if the professional requirements are met.
