At HZB, we research materials and energy that will make a sustainable energy supply possible in the future. For this, a well-functioning IT infrastructure is indispensable. Our workgroup Applications Operations of the IT department is responsible for the operation, setup and expansion of subject specific services and applications for our researchers as well as our administrative and tech staff. Our key tasks are the coordination of diverse IT tasks and projects, as well as the system administration of software and services.
As a system administrator for Windows, you will play a key role in ensuring that the IT infrastructure runs smoothly for its users at HZB. You can expect a responsible and meaningful job. Your Tasks
- You secure the service and very high and permanent availability of several different technical services and applications in heterogeneous, linked environments.
- You consult and support our users regarding central IT services, as well as, if applicable, additional IT resources in responsibility of the department.
- You install, deploy, maintain, and optimize our software resources.
- You independently localize, analyse, and correct errors.
- You create documentations, specifications, and functional specification documents.
Your Profile
- Completed university education, preferably computer science or equal skills and experiences gained in previous occupations
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Sharepoint, Windows Fileservices running on failover cluster systems, Active Directory
- Very good know-how and experience in the field of system administration of services and their operation under Windows through respective work experience
- Practical experience in working with customers
- Experiences in realizing and collaborating on projects
- Good command of German and English

The employment contract is unlimited. The salary is based on the Collective Agreement for the German Public Service (TVöD-Bund).
