Projekt Manager BESSY III (f/m/d)

Reference No.: GF 2024/6

We are planning the materials research of the future. Do you want to help shape the future? With BESSY III, we want to build and operate a 4th generation synchrotron radiation source for materials research in Berlin-Adlershof, which will open up completely new opportunities for the knowledge-based design of novel materials and thus for solving major societal challenges. BESSY III will be optimized for high-resolution spectroscopic and microscopic investigations in the soft to medium X-ray range. In combination with special laboratory facilities, embedded in the HZB research campus and the science and technology campus in Berlin-Adlershof, users from universities, research institutions and industry will gain unique insights into materials, processes and components under operando conditions. We are currently working on the specific design concept for the facility, which is scheduled to go into operation in 2035. As the HZB as a whole has committed itself to conducting research and working in a greenhouse gas-neutral manner by 2035, the comprehensive consideration of all aspects of sustainability and resource responsibility over the entire life cycle of planning, construction, operation and subsequent use is an integral part of the planning work for this pioneering research facility.
