Postdoc (f/m/d) - In Situ Electrocatalyst Characterization

The Young Investigator Group "Oxygen Evolution Mechanism Engineering" at HZB  rationally designs new electrocatalyst materials for the oxygen evolution reaction (OER). We are part of the interdisciplinary Collaborative Research Center CRC 1073 “Atomic scale control of energy conversion”, which consists of a team of more than 50 doctoral students, post-docs, and professors from different scientific disciplines working together to investigate the fundamental mechanisms of energy conversion in complex materials at the atomic scale. Through a series of cutting-edge research projects, we aim to understand and control the elementary steps of energy conversion in materials with tunable excitations and interactions. The focus of this position is a better understanding of the oxygen evolution reaction on manganite spinel surfaces. The desired insight into the catalytic mechanism will be gained through in situ synchrotron spectroscopy, electron microscopy and in collaboration with theory groups. The place of employment is Göttingen to facilitate close collaboration with the other groups of the CRC.

Fixed term contract for 24 months. The salary is based on the Collective Agreement for the German Public Service (TVöD-Bund).
